SVG Support

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) are essential for modern web design, offering sharp visuals at any resolution with incredibly small file sizes. While WordPress restricts these files by default due to security concerns, Cimo provides a safe and optimized way to utilize them.

Activating SVG Uploads

By default, WordPress does not allow the upload of .svg   files through the Media Library. Cimo overrides this limitation to streamline your design process:

  • Enable SVG Uploads: Activating this setting allows you to upload SVG files directly into your WordPress Media Library just like JPEGs or PNGs.
  • Safe Handling: Every uploaded SVG is automatically sanitized and validated during the upload process. This removes potentially harmful code or scripts, ensuring your site remains secure while using vector assets.

Automatic SVG Optimization

Once uploaded, Cimo ensures your vectors are as lightweight as possible. This feature is enabled by default to provide immediate performance benefits:

  • File Size Reduction: Cimo strips unnecessary metadata, editor comments, and hidden elements from the XML code of the SVG.
  • Visual Integrity: The optimization process reduces the footprint of the file without altering paths, colors, or gradients, ensuring your icons and illustrations stay sharp.

How to Manage SVG Settings

To adjust your SVG preferences, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the Cimo Settings in your WordPress Dashboard.
  • Locate the SVG Optimization Settings.
  • Turn on the toggle for Enable SVG uploads to allow SVG file support.
